Tonight I was at a concert with my sister and a friend of mine and we had a great time.
Gavin Degraw was in town and last time I saw him back in 2006, but he put on such a great show that I always wanted to see him again.
From beginning to end he owned the crowd and the crowd loved him. The program was a huge mix of old and new songs.
Concert opened up with Make a move and continued with songs like “Who’s gonna save us”, “Follow Through”, “We Belong Together”, “I Don’t Want to Be”, “Everything Will Change” with many others.

THis was such a great concert. Everyone were dancing, singing and my friend commented that it seemed more like a choir practice than a concert :D
At the end of the concert Gavin takes a selfie with us (the crowd) in the background and lets hope he will be back soon!

I showered, had breakfast and then went out for a walk. At first I stopped by Ana’s place to measure up some of my bikinis that she is making for me. She had a birthday surprise for me. A beautiful blouse she had made for me for christmas.
After that I went to El Sitio for Lunch and some hours working on my tan before I stopped at Jumbo for some nice shopping.

When I got back I got the sad news that the dogs adopted dove hadn’t made it. She died while I was outside.
Then I helped Mami wrap christmas gifts for the gifts for the old folks christmas party and once all the gifts were wrapped and Mami and Papi were ready to go I started preparing for my High School 20 year reunion party.
Eddie Alvarez had set up the party at his house and lots of my old school friends were there to celebrate.
We danced and ate and enjoyed lots of delicious food and great conversations. It was real cool to meet everyone again.

My little sister Ellen turns 5 years old today and Ingrid and I took the trip from Oslo to join her birthday party!
Ellen dressed up as Minnie Mouse.

It was a real nice birthday party with several princesses, one superhero and 2 zombies. Several grown-ups joined too and it was nice to spend time with the family !
I woke up a bit late and rushed to pack my suitcases as today was our last day in Den Haag working for KPN and Roger and Barry were already waiting for me downstairs.
I rushed through the hotel cafeteria preparing sandwiches to bring with me while the guys waited downstairs for me, then I checked out and we grabbed a cab to work.
At 2 pm when our workday was over the project manager, Warner, gave us a ride to Schipol and there I said goodbye to the guys and headed for the trains to Amsterdam Centraal station where I left my luggage in some lockers and headed over to Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena to meet a friend to go to the movies.
We went to see the Bourne Legacy which was quite good. It was premiering and due to my friends membership at the Pathe theatres, we even got the tickets at a nice price.
After the movie I went back to Amsterdam Centraal to pick up my luggage and took the tram to my friend’s (Liewe and Lien) house where I am staying tonight.
Lien went to work and Liewe took me to a bar called Roest, where we had a few beers, met a friend of Lien and Liewe and enjoyed a beautiful evening under the full moon outside the bar where they had a huge bonfire and a huge crowd of people.
Roest is located in an industrial area and the bar itself used to be a Gas factory where the energy was generated for the shipyard, where VOC ships and steam engines were built. The original factory building has been preserved and the the industrial feel of the former function is completely captured.

Today I celebrated my birthday and my first birthday greeting was from someone that I care about a lot that told me they dont want to be in touch with me any more which made me really sad. One of my friends who’s an early riser spent some time comforting me which I really appreciated.
Thankfully, with a start like that, the rest of the day could only get better and the birthday wishes kept pooring in. When I got out of bed I had breakfast and then I packed my suitcase. I have a job that I need to do in Netherlands for a few days and despite not wanting to leave on my birthday I had to make the best of it. Therefore I have already celebrated both with my friends and my sister.
I also had time to sit down and talk to some more of my friends and family that called to congratulate me before I had to leave. However at 11:30 I left for the airport and towards my flight to Amsterdam in the Netherlands. I have been booked for a few days of work for the project I worked on this summer in Den Haag.
I had lunch at the airport. The flight was pleasant and when I arrived in Den Haag checking in at the hotel I met my colleagues, Barry and Roger, whom were also checking in.
We met downstairs half an hour later and went out for dinner, but first we stopped at the Fiddler for a few pints. The funny thing about the Fiddler is that they have very odd beer that you dont find everywhere else. I ordered a Black Mambe which was very sweet and completly black, while Roger had a Deep Throath. At least the names were very interesting, but after that we went for dinner at Los Argentinos where we had an utmost delicious steak, before we moved on to September bar at the Grote Markt for more beer.
I can’t thank my colleagues enough. I was so sad due to the message that started my day, and they did their utmost to cheer me up. Not just because it was my birthday, but because I told them what had happened and they wanted to.
My friends from back home celebrated my birthday too (without me as I had had to leave) and they sent me a nice picture with a birthday greeting to me :D

Tonight I celebrated my upcoming birthday with my friends at YaYa’s Restaurant. With just a few visits there I have grown to like the place quite a lot and the food is delicious as well!
When I arrived Tone was already there and Øyvind and Madeleine arrived at the same time as I did. Jorunne E, Eva and Nathalie arrived shortly after and then Daniel, Jorunn S and Tor arrived shortly after that.

We had so much delicious food and drinks. I even had a mango daiquiri and a passion fruit drink. MMMMMMMM
For precourse we had Tom Yum Goong which is a hot sour soup with scampi, lemongrass and chili and Som Tam Malakaw Thawt Manplah which is a Thai salad with papaya and nuts, and Oriental Scampi.
For the main course we had Moo Baikarao which is a pork dish with vegetables and chili and then a Gang Ped Gay which is a dish with chicken in red curry, coconutmilk and vegetables and a Goong Pad King which is a Scampi dish with ginger and garlic.
We stayed at the restaurant and enjoyed eachothers company and after the dinner we left for the free Manu Chao concert downtown in accordance with the Mela festival.
It was a really nice birthday celebration!
My dad and his cousins on his fathers side has not had a tradition to make it into a point to meet up very often and during the past 10-15 years we have only met in weddings and funerals. Unfortunately there hasn’t been so many weddings and fortunately there hasn’t been so many funerals either. However this means that we haven’t been able to meet up so often.
This weekend we met up on my dads farm where we spent a lovely day getting to know third cousins we haven’t met before, catching up on family whom we haven’t seen for a long while, swimming, eating and drinking lovely food as well as having lots of fun!
It was a lovely group and it was a very nice way to spend the weekend with the family!
