Pulling an all nighter in front of Colosseum for Breaking Dawn

Tickets for the pre-premiere of the new Twilight movie, The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn – Part 2, have been released and I got my tickets on first row in the theatre! Which is quite nice as 2 of the actors (Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale) and Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale)) will be present for the screening and give interviews inside the theatre prior to the screening!!

However it took an effort to get those tickets. For all the previous movies I have had tickets for the pre-premiere as well, but during the 4 past years the movies, books – well, the whole franchise – has become utterly famous and popular – hence there were more people wanting tickets this year than any of the previous years. So I decided to join the “loonies” (being one of them I’m ok using that term) “camping” outside the movie theatre to be guaranteed tickets.

All people that arrived prior to midnight last night were signed up on a list that was to be sent to the cinema at midnight and all the people whose names were on the list were guaranteed to get to buy tickets prior to all the other people in line. I arrived well in time and we were 75 people on the list at midnight. A lot of people arrived throughout the night and they had to line up in an actual queue while the 75 of us could sit down and talk.

I had brought hot chocolate, a beach chair with a sheep skin and hot winter clothes to keep me warm. After all, sitting still several hours in temperatures closing down to 0C degrees. I had brought my knitting gear as well and my computer and a few DVD’s to kill a few hours. Each hour there was a check that everyone were present and each 6 hours we got 1 hour off to move around.

More campers

In the morning hours more and more people were gathering and joining the line for those that were not on the guarantee list. In the end over 300 people waited in line when the doors opened at 9am.

So, I got my tickets and my friends got their tickets. A few tickets were left for some of those that weren’t in line, but bought their tickets online.

Now, – I just have to be patient for another 3 weeks until the 15th of November for the film to release in theatres :D

Returning Home

I’m home. Its been an awesome journey of 5 full weeks and I have had an amazing time with my friends and my “family” in Costa Rica.

I just got home and I was greeted by a very happy little kitty that seems thoroughly pleased to see his “mom” again.

My day started out at 5 am when Mami woke me up. We had breakfast and got my stuff out into the car and took off for the airport.

At the airport we managed to talk the counter lady into letting me having a few kilos too much luggage in each of the bags to not carry too much (I was paying 270 USD in overweight after all for the 2 extra suitcases). Then I had to say goodbye to my lovely family again and go through security.

The flight from Liberia was 1,5 hours late and we were not able to save sufficuent time in flight time to Houston to make it to my next flight in time. The gate had closed and the flight was taking off just as we landed in Houston and I had to pick up my luggage (which had arrived already when I got to the luggage pick-up area) before we were met by a airline crew that had lots of new boarding cards, but unfortunately not mine, and then rush through customs and then to the Continental desk to get new boarding cards and then hand over the luggage without the desk crew realizing I had added about 10 kgs to the legal weight from the pick up counter to the handing it in. The desk crew booked me into a flight to New York that left me with less than 1 hour in Houston (and George W Bush International airport is HUGE) and because I was in such a rush I didnt have to show my reciepts that I had payed overweight for the luggage :D

Finally on the wings again I watched movies on my way to New York to make time fly. First up was Immortals.

Immortals stars Henry Cavill, Kellan Lutz and Stephen Dorff among others.

“Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land.

Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Amassing a bloodthirsty army of soldiers disfigured by his own hand, Hyperion has scorched Greece in search of the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon of unimaginable power forged in the heavens by Ares.

Only he who possesses this bow can unleash the Titans, who have been imprisoned deep within the walls of Mount Tartaros since the dawn of time and thirst for revenge. In the king’s hands, the bow would rain destruction upon mankind and annihilate the Gods. But ancient law dictates the Gods must not intervene in man’s conflict. They remain powerless to stop Hyperion…until a peasant named Theseus (Henry Cavill) comes forth as their only hope. Secretly chosen by Zeus, Theseus must save his people from Hyperion and his hordes…”

When Immortals finished i started watching Breaking Dawn, which I haven’t seen since the movies premiere in November last year. I won’t introduce this film any further as you can rather read the review of the film from the premiere instead.

Arriving New York I had 40 Minutes from landing to the new flight took off and thankfully the gates were pretty close. I managed to get some food before I boarded the plane to Norway.

We left Newark at 8 pm and I tried staying awake for long enough to watch the Rum Diaries and get food before falling asleep, but once the food was cleared off I paused the Rum Diary and fell asleep. I did continue watching it in the morning  when I woke up again while having my breakfast.

The Rum Diary
Hard-drinking journalist Paul Kemp takes a job at a besieged newspaper in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His volatile editor, Lotterman, assigns him to tourist pieces and horoscopes, but promises more.

Paul rooms with Sala, an aging and equally alcoholic reporter, in a rundown flat.

Sanderson, a wealthy entrepreneur, hires Paul to flack for a group of investors who plan to buy an island near the capital and build a resort.

Sanderson’s girl-friend, the beguiling Chenault, bats her eyes at Paul. His loyalties face challenges when he and Sala get in trouble with locals, when a Carnival dance enrages Sanderson, and when the paper hits the skids. Is the solution always alcohol?

I have a favourite quote from this movie. Paul first day on Puerto Rico he wakes up with the worst hang-over ever, blood shot eyes and competely confused when the bell-boy comes to his room. The bell boy sees the room trashed and the minibar is on its back on the floor and bell boy says: You know the Keys are in the drawer?
Paul looks up at him and rushes over to the minibar – opens it up and says:

I was looking for some nuts. I tend to ignore alcohol—when I can…

We landed well and sound back in Norway and I took the bus back home to my apartment and my home. Right now Im tired, sad and still sick. Thankfully its saturday. I can rest some after the trip – I just need to stay awake now. To get adjusted as soon as possible.

But today Im just going to enjoy being at home – and spend some quality time with my cat.

Breaking Dawn – Midnight Pre-Premiere with Elizabeth Reaser

I just got home from the Pre-Premiere of Breaking Dawn – The fourth installment of the Twilight Saga (yeah yeah). Finally, 1,5 years after Eclipse was released – it is here!

And you know who else was here with us today? Elizabeth Reaser  aka Esme Cullen. She is in Oslo, Norway for 3 full days promoting the movie. I even got a picture of me with her.

I went to see the movie with my best friend and we were dressed up for a Black Carpet Movie Premiere. Maybe a bit overdone with the fangs and all (since noone wears fangs in the Twilight Saga), but that’s just part of the fun :D

Prior to the midnight screening there was a bridal show, some people won goodie bags, Marion Ravn interviewed Elizabeth and we were shown the movie trailers and movies from fan events while waiting for midnight and the actual movie started.

.
The movie was great. Bill Condon has done a great job. Unfortunately to avoid the certain (US American) R-Rating Sex scenes, Birth Scene and Death was toned down, but at the same time, in the book you are also left to wonder and think for yourselves.
The birth scene was fantastic. Probably one of the best in the film.

One of my favourite scenes was during the wedding when family and friends held speaches to the bride and groom and Charlie threatens Edward to treat Bella well and keep her happy for the rest of her life, because he knows a few things … like shooting with a gun, beating someone up and stalking. After all he is a Policeman ! Awesome scene! Bellas mom sings a lullabye. Bella’s friend Jessica performs a bittersweet speach where she lets it shine through she is jealous that Edward didn’t choose her. Awesome.

Oh.. Wedding Dress.. My Gosh what a boring wedding dress. Totally DISLIKE.

I had great anticipation to how they would be explaining the whole imprinting on infants part and I’m not too impressed of how they handled that – however I also understand why…

Totally stoked folks… Loved it !!
As another blogger said it: “No one is going to call this movie a masterpiece, but I was not looking for a masterpiece”.

Wedding Event

Blue Foundation

My first meeting with Blue Foundation was December 2008 through the OST for Twilight The Movie where Blue Foundation is represented with the song: Eyes on Fire

PS: IF the movie does not play directly from my blog post – then doubleclick the link and watch directly from youtube.

Later I got several albums of this group and I am loving them more and more.

Voices – from the album “Dead People’s Voices”

Little By Little – from the album “Life of a Ghost”

Hero Across the sky from the album “Life of a Ghost”

Equilibrium from the album “Life of a Ghost”

As I moved on from the album “Sweep of Days”

This is just a tiny selection of great songs by Blue Foundation. The Danish band Blue Foundation started out in 2000 based on Tobias Wilner, aka Bichi’s cooperation with various artists and musicians; his work with Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg and Bo Rande has been especially characteristic for the Blue Foundation sound. The music can be described as a mix of melodic dreamy pop influenced by indietronica and shoegaze. Tobias Wilner called it “folk music for modern people”.
